Tis the season.....

Summer in Chicago is always exciting. Today I saw a woman, in high heels, fitted t-shirt and Capri's. She was standing at the bus stop, with her children. She kept walking away from the children looking into the cars at the stop light. She finally became disgusted with her lack of action and took her children back home.

Also standing at the bus stop was a man in a suite out of the 70's. He had a winter scarf on like an ascot and a yellow pinstripe suite. His hair was straight and back off his face, as if he had rollers in his hair all day, but could not afford a perm. His boots were sharp though.

When it gets nice people like to reinvent themselves. However that invention may be a little out of date or just a little too young. I think we should reinvent in the Spring and Summer, just keep it clean and up to date.

Summer in Chicago, you never know what the heat will bring out.

The Price of War......................

Nearly dying for the news :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Television

This article I found in the Chicago Sun-Times this week talks about something that has been neglected in Iraq. Over 3,000 soldiers have died in Iraq. Did you know over 104 journalists have been killed covering this war? This is the story about a journalist that survived.

My family

Tonight while watching my evening programing, my daughter needed a picture for school. She's in 8th grade and everyone has been asked to place their Kindergarten picture in the school newspaper. So after we found the picture, I was left with my memories of the girls (I have two 7 and 14). I looked at pictures when they were first getting to know each other. Then I looked at pictures before my seven year old was born. Me and Kenyanna were so broke, but in every picture she was happy. She was always smiling and laughing and we had good times. I have to remember, money is not the solution to every problem and that these moments I have with my children will only come around once. Whether I have money or not.

High Heels.....why!!!!

Who determined that high heels were the be it and end all of fashion? It has been said that wearing them can cause serious foot problems, but women still continue to wear them. I just bought a pair of 4 inch heels. I am glad I have time to practice, because wearing them is a full workout. My knees, my calf and my Achilles tendon hurts after i wear these shoes. I know I am too old to let fashion determine my style but to see these shoes with my linen skirt is just too cool. Pulse if I hurt myself bad enough, I'll get a few weeks off my dreadful job.

Bravo Chicago Media

Dad angry, but eager to win battle against gangs :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Metro & Tri-State

My hats are off to the Chicago media. Last week a young man was killed saving another student when two young men boarded a CTA bus and began firing at a rival gang member. They have since been caught and arranged, but the story did not end there. All four stations in Chicago, went the families houses, both the young man that was lost and the friend he saved. I am just so impressed that the story told by the Chicago media was human and not about what to do about the problem. Gang violence is a problem in Chicago, what can be done to stop this senseless violence, remains to be seen.

And so our journey begins.........

Hello,

This is the Daily dump. I know what you are thinking, what is this about. This blog is for anything I want it to be. Like today for instance.

What are ! exclamation points for? Do they imply yelling, or are they just to confirm excitement? How should feel if you get an e-mail full of them? Should you reply with ALL CAPS or should you just assume the person on the other end is ignorant? I am going with the latter.
